How much do after builders cost?
An after builders clean costs £250 to £600 for a typical domestic renovation, £2.50 to £5 a square metre on larger jobs, and £400 to £1,200 for a whole-house refurbishment. Most quotes assume two visits, a rough clean and a sparkle clean.

Book the sparkle clean for two or three days after the last trade leaves, not for the day they finish. It is the single decision on this job that most often turns one clean into two, and the difference is a few days in the diary rather than any money.
What moves the price
- One visit or two, which is the largest single difference between two quotes.
- How much dust. Plastering and floor cutting produce far more than a bathroom refit.
- Whether waste removal is included, since construction debris cannot go in a domestic bin.
- Window area. New glass covered in plaster and film is slow, careful work.
- Whether the trades have finished. Cleaning around people is slower and has to be repeated.
- New surfaces needing care: uncured paint, fresh grout, unsealed stone.
