How much does bin cleaning cost?
Wheelie bin cleaning costs £6 to £12 a bin on a subscription and £15 to £25 for a one-off. A second bin at the same visit is usually £3 to £6, and commercial bins run £15 to £40 depending on size.

Ask your neighbours before you book. This trade is priced on the density of the round, several houses in one street sign up at a better rate than one, and a van that already stops in your road is the only way the low end of that range is ever available to you.
What moves the price
- Subscription or one-off, which is the largest difference and is about the round rather than the work.
- How many bins at the same address. The second is always far cheaper than the first.
- Frequency. Every collection, monthly or quarterly.
- Bin size. A commercial 1100 litre bin is a different machine from a domestic 240.
- Whether you are on an existing round, which decides whether the price is possible at all.
- Deodorising and sanitiser, included by most and charged by some.
Questions about bin cleaning
Is a subscription worth it over a one-off?
Per clean, considerably. A one-off is two to three times the subscription rate because the journey is not shared with a round.
Where does the dirty water go?
Into a tank on the van. Washing a bin into a street drain is a discharge into a watercourse and is treated as one, so a service using a hose at the kerb is one to avoid.
