How much does deep cleaning cost?
A deep clean costs £180 to £280 for a one-bedroom flat, £220 to £350 for a two-bedroom and £280 to £450 for a three-bedroom house. It is priced by the job rather than by the hour, and a first visit before a regular clean starts is usually quoted at this rate.

Ask for cleaners times hours, not just a price. Two quotes at £280 are not the same job if one is a single cleaner for seven hours and the other is two for four, and that one number tells you more about what you are buying than anything else on the quote.
What moves the price
- Bedrooms and bathrooms, which is what the price is built from rather than square footage.
- How many cleaners are sent and for how long, which is the only fair way to compare two quotes.
- How long since the last one. A year of ordinary use is a standard job; five years is not.
- Pets, and how many. Shedding adds time to every room rather than to one.
- How much furniture has to be moved, and whether it safely can be.
- Whether appliances are included, which they normally are and which is most of the kitchen time.

Will it damage anything?
Ask specifically about anything delicate, unsealed or already loose before they start. A deep clean moves furniture and opens appliances, which a regular visit never does.
Do I need one if I have a regular cleaner?
Once or twice a year, yes, because a weekly visit deliberately never reaches behind or underneath. Best timed before the regular arrangement starts rather than after.
