How much does mould removal cost?
Mould treatment costs £200 to £600 for a room and £600 to £1,500 for several. A damp survey is £150 to £400 and is usually the better first purchase, because the treatment addresses the surface and the survey addresses the reason there is one.

Buy the survey before the treatment where it has come back once already. Three cleaning visits cost more than one survey, and only one of those two tells you why the wall is wet.
What moves the price
- Area affected, and whether it is one wall or a whole room.
- The cause, which decides whether cleaning is the answer at all.
- Whether soft furnishings, curtains or carpets are involved and need treating separately.
- Access. Mould behind fitted furniture means moving it and sometimes removing it.
- Whether anything needs replacing, such as perished silicone or blown plaster.
- Ventilation work, which is not cleaning and is usually what actually fixes it.

Report it in writing and keep the date. Social landlords in England are under fixed timescales to investigate and fix damp and mould under Awaab's Law, and the clock starts when they are told.
Why does it keep coming back?
Because the cause has not changed. Four in five cases are condensation, and until the airflow, the heating or the moisture at source changes, the surface will keep providing somewhere for it to grow.
