The extractor is what holds a kitchen's smell, and cleaning the oven does nothing about it. Grease in a hood filter carries the last six months of cooking, and on a recirculating hood with a carbon filter the filter is a consumable nobody ever replaces.
Ask whether the filter is cleaned, replaced or neither. It is the cheapest part of the job and the one that changes what the room smells like.
