Salt air is the difference between window cleaning here and inland. A film of it dries on the glass, holds dust, and is not washed off by rain the way ordinary road film is, so seafront and harbour-side properties need doing more often than their neighbours a mile inland.
Purified water is what deals with it. Tap water dries and leaves its own minerals behind, which on salted glass makes the second problem worse than the first.
