Mattress cleaning is bought for two different reasons and they need different work. A stain is a surface job. House dust mites and the allergen they produce are a population living in the filling, and no surface treatment reaches them.
The published research is unusually clear on the second: washing bedding at sixty degrees killed every mite in the sample, while forty degrees killed about one in fifteen. The allergen is water-soluble and comes out at lower temperatures, so the two problems separate and it is worth saying which one you have.
